01
Understand the load
Write down the object mass, the intended gripper, and any adapters or equipment carried by the arm. Payload should be considered as a complete handled load, not only the object itself. The centre of mass and task dynamics also belong in an engineering review.
02
Map the movement
Identify pickup, placement, and intermediate positions. Consider clearances, approach directions, fixtures, and obstacles throughout the motion. A reach number on its own cannot establish whether a task is feasible.
03
Define the outcome
Describe what a successful operation means: the process result, accepted variation, desired timing, and how exceptions should be handled. Separate requirements from assumptions so the validation plan has a clear starting point.
04
Compare the whole configuration
Review the arm alongside tooling, sensing, control, mounting, and the workspace. Use the Robonova family to begin the conversation, then wait for confirmed engineering data before committing to an integration.
